Acoustic and Sound system Design

To understand and predict the behavior of sound, computer simulations are performed. Integrated with in-situ measurements, acoustical analysis can be determined accurately.

HX Audio Lab analyses not only frequency domain but also time domain to understand room-loudspeaker interaction, reverberation characteristics, reflection study, and we are able to create advanced electronic corrections.

Utilizing Enhanced Acoustic Simulator for Engineers (EASE) with the AURA module, HX Audio Lab is able to study the effect of reflections in depth, and then integrate acoustical design, sound system design and electronic correction correctly.

Acoustic/Electro-acoustic Simulations and Measurements

HX Audio Lab utilizes the latest software technology in simulations and measurements such as EASERA, Systune, SpeakerLab, LEAP, TEF, Filter Hose and other in-house specialized acoustic and audio programs.

Hardware such as microphones and sound-level calibrators are annually updated and certified to ensure we comply with the standards.

Our microphone collection includes Earthworks M30BX and Bruel & Kjaer 4145. We are able to measure as low as 10dBA.

Sound System Optimization and Performance Verification

To ensure the sound system delivers the highest sonic integrity, the room and electronics have to work together seamlessly. HX Audio Lab offers sound system tune-up and commissioning/re-commissioning for all kind of venues.

To improve transparency and sonic quality of a loudspeaker, HX Audio Lab also provides separate measurement and analysis to various products to create a specific frequency and time domain correction. Our in-house programs are able to create an advanced FIR (finite impulse response) correction with adjustable processing delay time and phase correction.

STI verification is available upon request. HX Audio Lab utilizes NTI XL2 with the STIPA module for acquiring STIPA numbers.

In-Depth Reflection Analysis

HX Audio Lab utilizes the most current technology in audio/acoustics measurement, enabling us not only quantitatively capture the room's impulse response, but also do reflection detection analysis. We are able to detect the direction of an echo or a strong reflection with high precision.
