A great acoustic design from the great Hadi Sumoro!
It is well designed as a 'chameleon' studio mainly for mixing, and also for recording acoustic instrument. You can walk around in the studio and you realize that just in a few steps (two or three) you could feel the reverb changing -- seems unbelievable but true!
I could feel huge improvements on monitoring with my trusty Yamaha HS-80M. The stereo image is very well defined, the bottom is rock solid without smearing, highs are clear, mids are pronounced, you could hear the fine details that previously only available by using headphones! I could say that clarity is the best word to describe the overall sound in the listening sweet spot.
The other side of the room has less reverb yet not dead. Excellent for tracking vocals and acoustic guitar. The sound is so focused, no more smearing, no more roominess, yet it still sounds alive and not dead like when you used too much absorbent material. Increasing the distance between sound source and microphones does not introduce room reverb, instead the sound just move farther away but still very focused.
Overall, I am so impressed with this room. It is more than what I expected earlier. Great work Mr. Hadi!
I recommend Hadi Sumoro to everyone reading this -- I believe nobody will be disappointed :)
